AWS Database Services and High Availability is designed to help learners build a strong understanding of managed database services available on AWS and the architectural considerations involved in building highly available, scalable, and resilient database solutions. The course introduces Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, Amazon Aurora, Aurora Global Database, and Amazon ElastiCache, covering relational, NoSQL, cloud-native, global database, and in-memory caching capabilities.

The course is divided into three modules, with each module further segmented into lessons and video lectures. Learners will explore both conceptual and practical aspects of AWS database services, including RDS Multi-AZ deployments, Read Replicas, RDS Proxy, DynamoDB tables and indexes, DynamoDB Accelerator (DAX), Aurora Serverless, Aurora Global Database, and ElastiCache for caching and session storage. Course Modules Module 1: Amazon RDS and Database Availability Module 2: Amazon DynamoDB and Aurora Module 3: Aurora Global and ElastiCache By the end of this course, a learner will be able to: Understand Amazon RDS and apply high-availability concepts using Multi-AZ deployments, Read Replicas, and RDS Proxy. Explain DynamoDB capabilities, including tables, indexes, and DynamoDB Accelerator (DAX). Understand Amazon Aurora and Aurora Serverless for cloud-native relational database workloads. Describe Aurora Global Database and its role in supporting globally distributed database architectures. Understand ElastiCache capabilities for caching, security, and session-store use cases. This course is intended for learners who want to build practical knowledge of AWS database services and develop the skills required to select and understand managed database solutions for highly available and scalable cloud workloads.
